Addison Publications Ltd
Through collaboration with skilled British craftsmen, including printers, book binders, paper makers, artists and designers, Addison is continuing a tradition of fine-art printing through the creation of handcrafted books of unsurpassed quality that can be bound to a collector’s own requirements.
Since 2003 Addison’s founding partners Nigel Frith and Henrietta Pearson have specialised in natural history and published The Highgrove Florilegium, England’s first Royal Florilegium, which features the work of 75 renowned botanical artists. The two-volume limited edition set is half-bound in Chieftain goatskin with marbled paper sides and features a preface and personal signature from HRH The Prince of Wales.
Addison has also issued a limited edition of Mark Catesby’s pioneering masterpiece “The Natural History of Carolina, Florida & the Bahama Islands”, from the original watercolours held in The Royal Collection at Windsor Castle. Bound in four full- leather volumes hand tooled in gold leaf in the style of the original drawings.
In addition to Addison’s own publications they sell a range of limited edition books and prints from 18th and 19th century natural history original plates.
